Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship program offers two types of financial support:
- Full Scholarship:Â Covers tuition, living allowance, accommodation, and comprehensive medical insurance.
- Partial Scholarship:Â Covers tuition and comprehensive medical insurance only.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Shandong University Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Eligible Countries:Â Citizens from all countries except China
- Degree and Age Requirements:
- For Bachelor Programs: High school graduation or equivalent, under 25 years of age
- For Master Programs: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, under 35 years of age
- For PhD Programs: Master’s degree or equivalent, under 40 years of age
- Demonstrated excellent academic performance and strong scientific research skills.
- Applicants cannot receive any other scholarships funded by the Chinese government while holding the SDU Scholarship.
- Language Requirements:
- For Chinese-taught Programs:
- Bachelor applicants must score 210 points or above on the HSK 4 test.
- Master applicants must score 180 points or above on the HSK 5 test.
- PhD applicants must score 180 points or above on the HSK 6 test.
- For English-taught Programs:
- Native English speakers (from the U.K., U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia) are exempt from further requirements.
- Other English speakers must submit IELTS (minimum score 6.0) or TOEFL (minimum score 80) results, or equivalent certificates. Mybest Scores are accepted, with the DI code for Shandong University being C296.
- English speakers who have completed their highest degree in an English-instructed institution must provide official proof of English as the medium of instruction and are exempt from submitting IELTS/TOEFL scores.

Application Process
To apply for the Shandong University Scholarship, follow these steps:
- Eligible candidates should log in to the SDU Online Application System for International Students at http://www.apply.sdu.edu.cn and complete the application.
- The application form for the Shandong University Scholarship for Outstanding International Students must be filled out in either Chinese or English. The signed form should be scanned and uploaded; paper applications sent by post are not required.
